Copying Alerts

RL6 allows you to create a new alert based on an existing one. This saves time by allowing you to tweak the message and conditions rather than create them from scratch. As part of the copy process, you can determine if the new alert should also be assigned to the same schedules.

To copy alerts:

  1. Click the Logged in as menu and click Admin Center. Under the AlertsClosedA warning that is sent out in the form of an email and/or an in-system alert notification under defined circumstances (e.g. an abnormally high number of complaints or incidents are reported, a high severity incident occurs, or when a file is ignored for a given period of time). Alerts are created by your administrator and are triggered at defined intervals (e.g. daily, weekly, monthly). section, click Alert Center (not shown). A list of existing alerts appears.
  2. Check the box next to the alert you would like to copy.
  3. Click Copy. The Copy Alert Prompt opens.
  4. Choose whether you want to use the same schedule assignment:
    1. Yes – to assign the new alert to the same schedules.
    2. No – to leave the Schedule tab (Adding an Alert to a Schedule) blank, allowing you to assign the alert to a different schedule at a later date.
  5. Modify the Copied Alert Name field, if desired.
  6. Click OK. The Alert Properties dialog is displayed (Alert Properties), allowing you to make the necessary modifications.
